Group Standard "General Technical Requirements for Biodegradable Lubricants" (T/CI 1581—2026) Officially Released

On June 18, 2026, the group standard "General Technical Requirements for Biodegradable Lubricants" (Standard No. T/CI 1581—2026) was officially issued and implemented by the Standardization Working Committee of the China Association for International Science and Technology Promotion. Shanghai Hitecrun Special Lubricant Technology Co., Ltd. participated as one of the lead drafting organizations, working alongside upstream and downstream industry enterprises, research institutes, testing agencies, and application units.

Standard Framework

The standard establishes a general technical framework covering four dimensions — environmental performance, lubrication performance, material compatibility, and engineering application — based on the practical requirements of biodegradable lubricant engineering applications. It defines product classification, technical requirements, test methods, and inspection rules. The core orientation is to advance green lubrication from concept to engineering practice that is measurable, evaluable, and implementable.

Typical Application Scenarios

The standard applies to multiple environmentally sensitive industrial application scenarios, including: wind power generation (gearboxes and hydraulic systems), rail transit (bogies and auxiliary systems), data centers (cooling systems and ancillary equipment), new energy equipment (green manufacturing applications), marine and maritime (water-sensitive environments), and mechanical manufacturing (hydraulic, gear, and chain lubrication).

HITECRUN's Participation

HITECRUN has long been engaged in industrial functional fluid technology, with sustained technical investment in biodegradable lubricant formulation R&D and engineering validation. The company previously participated in drafting standards related to immersion cooling fluids for data center applications. Participation in the lead drafting of this standard represents a continuation of the company's work in industrial functional fluid standardization.

Note

This is a group standard administered by the Standardization Working Committee of the China Association for International Science and Technology Promotion. The publication and implementation of group standards is intended to provide technical reference guidance for the industry and promote standardized development in relevant fields.
